Packing and securing chemicals and industrial raw materials
Chemicals travel in certified UN packaging (drums, IBCs, canisters) marked with the ADR hazard class; incompatible classes in separate compartments. Every piece carries a GHS label and the UN number. Driver and vehicle hold ADR approval, and the safety data sheet (SDS) is in the cab.
Documents and permits
A safety data sheet (SDS) in Russian, a state registration certificate for certain substances, and a declaration under TR EAEU 041/2017 “On the safety of chemical products”. Precursors and dual-use substances require a Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade licence and an export authorisation in the country of dispatch.
The costly mistake made most often
Sending dangerous goods as ordinary groupage without ADR classification — the carrier offloads the cargo at the terminal, and fines at the EU border run into thousands of euros. The second mistake is having no Russian-language SDS: without it the declaration is not accepted and clearance drags on for weeks.
Which mode usually works out best
From Europe: a dedicated ADR-approved truck or dangerous-goods groupage with a specialised carrier, 8–15 days. Large volumes from Asia: a container with a dangerous goods certificate — some classes are not accepted by the lines. Air for chemicals is almost closed by IATA restrictions.
Export controls and sanctions
Many chemicals are covered by EU, UK and US export controls and sanctions, and dual-use substances need an export authorisation. We screen the CAS/HS codes, the end use and all parties before quoting and do not ship restricted substances.
