Packing and securing pharmaceuticals
Medicines and substances travel in thermal containers or insulated trucks with a validated temperature range (usually +2…+8 or +15…+25 °C) and continuous logger recording. Every piece is sealed and the packaging has tamper indicators. GDP requirements apply to the whole route.
Documents and permits
A Russian registration certificate for the medicine (or permission to import an unregistered one), a pharmaceutical licence held by the consignee, a batch certificate of analysis, the manufacturer’s GMP certificate, and for substances inclusion in the state register. Mandatory Chestny Znak labelling on every pack before import.
The costly mistake made most often
Importing a medicine whose batch does not match the registration dossier (for example, the substance manufacturer has changed) — the consignment is not released for sale. Just as costly is a break in the cold chain without a logger: without evidence the insurer does not pay, and the medicines are destroyed.
Which mode usually works out best
Temperature-sensitive medicines: air in active or passive thermal containers, 2–5 days door to door. Stable medicines and substances: reefer truck from Europe or India under GDP, 7–15 days. Groupage is not used for pharma.
