Packing and securing household appliances
Large appliances travel only in factory packaging with polystyrene inserts, upright according to the arrows on the box, and are not stacked higher than the manufacturer allows. Refrigerators and washing machines with transport bolts — the bolts must be in place, otherwise the drum or compressor arrives damaged.
Documents and permits
Certificates under TR CU 004/2011 and TR CU 020/2011; for gas cookers TR CU 016/2011; appliances connected to the water supply sometimes need additional confirmation. Energy-intensive appliances are subject to the recycling and environmental fees, and the rates for product groups are revised every year.
The costly mistake made most often
A costly mistake is ordering a model for the European market with a plug and voltage that do not match the Russian standard, or without Russian-language marking: no certificate will be issued for it, and the consignment gets stuck. Whether a model can be certified must be checked before the order is placed with the supplier.
Which mode usually works out best
Household appliances are bulky and relatively cheap per cubic metre, so air almost never pays. From Europe: road groupage or a dedicated truck via Poland, 7–14 days; from Asia: a 40-foot FCL container, which takes 150–250 large units. Small consignments of small appliances go as LCL groupage.
