How air freight to Russia works
There are no direct freighter flights to Russia from most countries, so the service is built around transit hubs: Istanbul, Dubai and Doha take cargo from all over the world and have daily flights to Moscow. China and the UAE have direct services. We collect the goods from your premises, deliver them to the airport terminal, prepare the export documents (the EX1 for EU countries) and the air waybill, and transfer the cargo to a Russia-bound flight at the hub.
At the arrival airport — Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Pulkovo or Koltsovo — your buyer’s declaration is filed in advance, so release usually takes hours rather than days. After release the goods go to the buyer in any Russian city by road or domestic flight. For regular shipments we consolidate at the hub and fly once a week at a contract rate.
We compare air honestly with surface options. If the goods are light and bulky, air charges volumetric weight (volume in cm³ ÷ 6,000) and costs more than rail or road; if they are dense and valuable, or the deadline is critical, air pays for itself through faster turnover and no downtime.

What to know before you ship by air
- ✓Lithium batteries, aerosols, perfume, magnets and chemicals are dangerous goods under IATA DGR: some are forbidden on aircraft, the rest need certified packaging and a shipper’s declaration
- ✓Volumetric weight: a 60×40×40 cm box counts as 16 kg even if it weighs 5 — pack tightly
- ✓Documents: commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill (issued by us), the EX1 for the EU, and EAEU certificates or declarations of conformity where the goods require them
- ✓Temperature-controlled cargo (pharmaceuticals, biological samples) travels in thermal containers with cooling elements and temperature monitoring

No weight limit, but screening first
We take small commercial consignments — samples, spare parts, documents — as well as heavy lots. The minimum service fee is €200. HS codes and all parties are screened against EU, UK, Swiss and US sanctions before booking; dual-use and sanctioned goods are not carried.

Can I send electronics with batteries by air?
Yes, as Class 9 dangerous goods under IATA DGR, with certified packaging, marking and a shipper’s declaration; loose batteries have power limits, while equipment with built-in batteries is simpler. We check the safety data sheet before booking.
When is air better than sea or rail?
When the goods are dense and valuable, the deadline is critical (a stopped production line, a season, a product launch) or the lot is small. For light, bulky goods air loses on volumetric weight — then we suggest rail or road.
