Platform chosen for the dimensions and weight of the machine, with axle loads and route calculated.

Packing and securing special machinery
Self-propelled machinery is prepared for transport: fuel is drained to the level the carrier allows, the battery is disconnected, booms and outriggers are folded, and protruding parts that increase the dimensions are removed. On a lowloader the machine is secured with chains and tensioners at four points, the wheels with chocks.
Documents and permits
Besides the contract and invoice you need the self-propelled machine passport (or the manufacturer’s document for obtaining it), a TR CU 010/2011 certificate and, for road-building machinery, a calculation of the recycling fee, which depends on the year of manufacture and engine power. Used machinery from the EU is checked against the sanctions annexes of Regulation 833/2014.
The costly mistake made most often
The recycling fee is calculated after purchase instead of before: for heavy machinery older than three years it can exceed the value of the machine itself. The second mistake is not ordering the out-of-gauge permit in advance: without it the lowloader waits at the border and the downtime is charged by the day.
Which mode usually works out best
Wheeled machinery up to 3.5 m wide travels on a lowloader or in a semi-trailer from Europe in 7–14 days including permits. Tracked and heavy machinery goes by sea via Rotterdam on a flat rack or ro-ro, from 2 weeks, but without complicated road approvals in the EU. From Asia, sea only.
Export controls and sanctions
Construction and special machinery is widely covered by EU, UK and US export restrictions. We check the HS code, the machine’s specification and the end user before quoting and do not move restricted machinery.
