Packing and securing cosmetics and perfume
Cosmetics are packed in cartons with dividers, glass containers with padding, and aerosols and alcohol-based products as dangerous goods with ADR marking. The temperature range is +5 to +25 °C: in winter an insulated truck is needed, otherwise creams separate.
Documents and permits
A state registration certificate (for some categories) or a declaration under TR CU 009/2011 “On the safety of perfumery and cosmetic products”. Perfumes and eau de toilette are subject to Chestny Znak labelling. Cosmetics require a Russian-language label with ingredients and shelf life — it is usually applied at the warehouse before import.
The costly mistake made most often
The most common mistake is importing a consignment without Russian-language labelling and without Chestny Znak codes on the perfume: relabelling at a temporary storage warehouse is paid, and if the shelf life is short the consignment misses its sales window. The second is shipping aerosols as ordinary groupage without a dangerous goods declaration.
Which mode usually works out best
From Europe: road groupage via Poland in an insulated trailer during the cold season, 7–14 days. Small, valuable consignments (selective perfumery) by air, but aerosols and alcohol are restricted. From Korea and Asia: LCL groupage, or FCL for regular volumes.
Export controls and sanctions
High-priced cosmetics and perfumes can fall under the EU ban on exporting luxury goods to Russia. We check the unit value and HS code before quoting.
