How delivery to your customer’s city is calculated
The international leg to Russia is almost the same for every city: the goods are consolidated at a warehouse in Europe, travel to St Petersburg, Moscow or a land border crossing, and are cleared through customs there. The difference in transit time and price appears further on — in the “last mile”. For Moscow and St Petersburg that means hours; for Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk several days by road or container train; for Vladivostok and Kaliningrad the route changes fundamentally: the first is better served by sea from Asia, while the second is cut off from the main territory and needs a separate scheme.
The second factor is where the declaration is lodged. Customs clearance can take place at a temporary storage warehouse near the port of arrival, or the goods can travel under the customs transit procedure to the electronic declaration centre of the consignee’s federal district. The first option is faster; the second is sometimes more convenient, because the documents and any inspection end up where the consignee is. Each city page states which declaration centre handles its deliveries.
The third factor is the season and road restrictions. Spring axle-load limits, bridge repairs and winter mountain passes change the transit time more than the choice of carrier, and they are not built into “average transit times”. That is why on the city pages we describe not only the distance but also the bottlenecks of each specific route.

Which Russian cities do you deliver to?

Where are the goods cleared through customs?
Either at a temporary storage warehouse near the port or border of arrival, or — under customs transit — at the declaration centre of the consignee’s federal district. We choose the option that suits your consignment and your customer.
Why do transit times differ so much between cities?
The international leg is similar; the difference comes from the last mile, the place of clearance and seasonal road restrictions. For the Far East and Kaliningrad the route itself is different.
