Receiving the goods and the last mile
Road consignments in Krasnodar usually end their journey at the Prikubansky customs post (4 Topolinaya Street): three temporary storage warehouses operate there, and inspection and release after clearance take place there too. Seasons and weather
The main seasonal factor here is not winter but the resort summer. On the A-146 Krasnodar–Verkhnebakansky, on the section from Severskaya to Krymsk, vehicles over 15 t are banned during the day (in 2026 from 1 June to 15 September, daily from 08:00 to 20:00), so the leg from the Novorossiysk berths effectively becomes a night one; separately, in heat above +32 °C heavy vehicles are banned from the M-4 “Don”, R-217 “Kavkaz” and A-146 from 10:00 to 22:00. The second surprise is downpours: on 4 August 2026 more than 50 mm fell in Krasnodar in one morning against a monthly norm of 44 mm, Moskovskaya Street was closed and the tracks under the Vishnyakovsky bridge were flooded, so unloading is best not scheduled as the last stop of the day.
Customs clearance in the region
The region is assigned to Krasnodar Customs (2/5 Suvorova Street) of the Southern Customs Administration, but the declaration itself does not go to Krasnodar: electronic declaration is handled by the Yuzhny customs post (declaration centre) of Southern Electronic Customs in Rostov-on-Don. In practice this means that the inspector asking questions about the documents sits in Rostov, while the goods and the inspection area are in Krasnodar, and every query is closed by correspondence rather than a visit to the next office. The sea adds a fork: a container arriving via Novorossiysk is cleared by the separate Novorossiysk Customs, and one arriving via Temryuk, Taman or Kavkaz by Krasnodar Customs itself, which has these sea posts in its structure.
What most often breaks the schedule
The schedule is most often broken by the summer daytime bans for vehicles over 15 t: besides the A-146, from 30 April to 13 September 2026 the Goryachy Klyuch–Dzhubga section of the M-4 “Don” was restricted on Fridays to Sundays and public holidays from 8:00 to 21:00, and one missed night window costs a day. For air freight, two options should be compared: Krasnodar airport resumed operations only on 11 September 2025 after being closed since February 2022 and is still building up its schedule, so for urgent consignments the “plane to Moscow plus road to Krasnodar” scheme often wins on reliability. The third budget eater is the split customs set-up: while the declaration centre in Rostov waits for documents, the goods stand at the Krasnodar temporary storage warehouse and storage charges accumulate.
