Certification and declaration of conformity (EAC)
Proof that a product is safe: an EAC certificate or declaration of conformity, without which many goods cannot be released by EAEU customs.
What is EAC certification?
To release many goods in the EAEU, conformity with the technical regulations must be confirmed: either a certificate of conformity or a declaration of conformity (EAC mark). Without this permit document customs will not release the goods.
Which document is required depends on the TN VED code; it is obtained from an accredited body before or during customs clearance. As the supplier you typically help by supplying technical documentation and, if needed, samples for testing.
How it works in practice
Most consumer and industrial goods fall under EAEU technical regulations: they need either a certificate of conformity (issued by a certification body after testing) or a declaration of conformity (registered by the importer on the basis of test reports).
We determine the form of conformity assessment by TN VED code before shipment, arrange testing of samples and obtaining the document, so that the certificate is already in the register when the goods arrive — without it customs will not release the consignment. For goods outside the regulations we obtain an exemption letter.

Certificate or declaration — how do I know which is needed?
The form is set by the technical regulation for the specific product: equipment, toys and protective equipment more often need a certificate; adult clothing, furniture and electronics a declaration. We check by TN VED code and the purpose of the goods.
How long does certification take?
A declaration — from a few days if test reports are available; a certificate — 2–4 weeks including sample testing. Samples can be imported separately ahead of the main consignment under a letter from the certification body.
What is the EAC mark?
The single mark of circulation on the EAEU market. It is applied to the product and packaging once the certificate or declaration has been obtained; the absence of the mark on products subject to conformity assessment is grounds for refusing release.
