Shipping from Austria to Russia: how to organise a wholesale supply in 2026
Austria has no direct road lane to the EU–EAEU border, so wholesale cargo from Vienna, Linz or Graz travels via a consolidation warehouse in Poland. Here is how the route works, what it costs, and why the HS code needs checking before the invoice is paid, not after the truck leaves.
What moves from Austria: more than machinery
Austria is a steady wholesale source of industrial machinery and equipment, paper- and pulp-making machinery, dairy and milking equipment, and chemical and pharmaceutical products for Russian buyers. Most of this flow originates around Vienna, Linz and Graz, Austria’s main industrial hubs.
There is no dedicated Austria–EAEU truck lane: unlike Poland or the Baltic states, Austria sits well back from the border and has no established direct corridor. We work with Austria on a B2B basis only — companies and sole traders, lots from 50 kg, a minimum service fee of €200 — the same terms as on every other European lane. See the [Austria page](/napravlenie/avstriya) for the direction overall.
How the cargo physically moves: via the Warsaw warehouse
Collection from Vienna, Linz or Graz goes by road through the Czech Republic or Slovakia to our [consolidation warehouse in Warsaw](/usluga/consolidation-warsaw), the same hub that gathers cargo from Poland and the surrounding countries. From there the consolidated load continues via Brest to Moscow. The full Austria–Moscow transit, door to bonded warehouse, runs 5–7 days.
For one to three pallets, routing through the Warsaw warehouse as groupage is the practical option — it is a regular, scheduled consolidation, not a one-off booking. For a lot that fills a meaningful part of a trailer, we can book a dedicated truck directly from the supplier’s premises instead; because Austria has no fixed lane, the rate for a dedicated truck is quoted per route individually rather than from a published price list. General principles for the wider region are in our [guide to shipping from Europe](/gid/dostavka-iz-evropy).
Customs: check the HS/TARIC code before you pay the supplier
Austrian industrial equipment, instruments and chemical products are a sensitive category: some items fall under EU export restrictions to Russia or are classed as dual-use goods. The practical consequence is that the HS/TARIC code and the declared end-use of the goods need checking before the invoice is paid — not after the truck has already left Austria, when there is far less room to fix a problem.
We build this check into our [customs clearance service](/usluga/customs): TARIC classification, duty and VAT calculation, and certification, all handled end to end. We do not carry sanctioned goods on any lane; if there is any doubt about a specific item, we clear it up at the quoting stage rather than at the border.
Sanctions screening comes first
We only handle goods that are not subject to EU, UK, Swiss or US sanctions. Before we quote, we check the HS code of every item and screen all parties to the deal; if a product or a party is restricted, we decline the order, whatever the route or the price.
Insurance, export declaration and how to book
Cargo insurance is available from 0.3% of the declared value — worth adding for equipment that is reloaded at the Warsaw warehouse during consolidation. If your Austrian supplier will not lodge their own export declaration, we can file a remote EX1 on your behalf from €450.
As on every other lane, we work only with companies and sole traders, lots from 50 kg, minimum service fee €200. Leave a request on the site, call +7 800 101-60-59, or message us on Telegram, and we will work out the route and timing for your specific lot.
Questions and answers
Is there a direct truck lane from Austria to Russia?
No — Austria has no dedicated lane. Cargo goes by road via the Czech Republic or Slovakia to our consolidation warehouse in Warsaw, then via Brest to Moscow, 5–7 days in total.
Does Tranzit3 carry sanctioned or dual-use equipment?
No. We check the HS/TARIC code and the end-use of every item before quoting, and we decline any order where a product or a party is restricted, whatever the route.
What is the minimum lot from Austria?
We work only with companies and sole traders: lots from 50 kg, with a minimum service fee of €200 regardless of the goods or the route.
How is the price for a dedicated truck from Austria set?
There is no published Austria rate because the country has no fixed lane — a dedicated truck is quoted per route, based on the pickup city, volume and loading date.
