The task
Organise delivery of an industrial Homag edge-banding machine weighing 5,500 kg from Poland to Kaliningrad. The equipment needed careful handling and correctly prepared customs documents for a route running through Europe and Russia.
What we did
We designed a combined route. From Poland the machine went by road to the port of Rotterdam and from there by sea to St Petersburg. It was then transhipped and carried by sea to Kaliningrad.
This routing kept the whole journey on a dependable chain of port-to-port legs, with no overland transit leg, and gave the client a predictable schedule.
Result
The Homag machine reached Kaliningrad on schedule, with no damage and no delays at any customs stage. The client received equipment ready for installation exactly as planned.
