Shipping used kitchen equipment from Lithuania to Moscow for a restaurant opening
Six tonnes of used commercial kitchen equipment travelled from Lithuania to Moscow in a groupage container and arrived in 21 days — exactly on the agreed opening date.
The task
Organise delivery of used kitchen equipment for a restaurant relocating from Lithuania to Russia: ship it as groupage, keep the equipment in working order, stay within budget and arrive strictly by the opening date.
What we did
The equipment was collected at a warehouse in Lithuania and shipped in a groupage container via Rotterdam. To protect it we designed individual packing and securing for every item — euro pallets and timber crating against damage during transhipment.
The documents were prepared taking into account the specifics of used equipment, and the declaration was lodged in advance; customs clearance in Moscow went through without delay.
Result
The cargo arrived in 21 days — exactly on the agreed date. Every piece of equipment arrived undamaged and free of corrosion, and clearance passed without additional inspections.

What it means for a supplier of used equipment
Used goods need two things new goods do not: packing designed for items that are no longer in factory crates, and documents that describe the goods’ condition accurately so customs has no reason to query the value. In groupage every item is handled several times, so crating and pallet securing are part of the price of arriving intact.
Why the price is quoted this way
Groupage (LCL) freight is priced per cargo piece: from €200 per piece and from €500 per euro pallet. Project and out-of-gauge moves are always quoted individually, because the price depends on permits, special equipment and the lashing scheme rather than on a rate per kilometre.
