3D truck and container loading calculator
Enter the dimensions of your pieces — the calculator places them in a truck or a container, shows the fill level in 3D and tells you whether a dedicated truck or container is needed or groupage is better value.
How to use the 3D loading view
Enter the dimensions and number of pieces and mark those that can be stacked — the algorithm places them in the chosen truck or container automatically. You can rotate the 3D view and inspect the layout. The fill level and the space left show whether a full container or truck (FCL/FTL) or a groupage shipment (LCL/LTL) makes more sense.
How many pallets fit in a container and a truck
| Transport | Euro pallets 120 × 80 (one tier) | Volume and payload |
|---|---|---|
| 20′ container | 11 | internal length 5.9 m, width 2.35 m, about 33 m³, up to 21–22 t |
| 40′ container | 25 | 12 m, about 67 m³, up to 26 t |
| 40′ High Cube | 25 | height 2.69 m, about 76 m³ for light, bulky cargo |
| Standard trailer 13.6 m | 33 (or 26 Finnish 120 × 100) | up to 22 t, about 90 m³ |
If pieces can be stacked, the capacity by volume doubles, but the weight limit stays: heavy cargo reaches the tonnage limit before it runs out of cubic metres.
What to watch when planning the load
- ✓Real internal dimensions: a container door opening is lower and narrower than the walls.
- ✓A margin of 3–5 cm for stretch film and corner protectors.
- ✓Unloading order: what is unloaded first goes by the doors.
- ✓Weight distribution across the axles for road transport.
- ✓Securing: straps, bars and air bags.
The loading plan is part of our service
A precise loading plan that takes fragility, stackability and unloading order into account is prepared by a Tranzit3 manager as part of the quote — it is not a separate item on the invoice.

Frequently asked questions
Why plan container loading in 3D?
It shows whether your cargo fits in the chosen transport, how much space is left, and whether you need a dedicated container or a groupage shipment is better value. This helps you choose the right mode in advance and avoid paying for empty space.
Which types of transport are supported?
A standard 13.6 m trailer and sea containers. Enter the dimensions and quantities of your pieces and the calculator places them automatically and shows the fill level.
What does “stackable” mean?
Stackable cargo can have other pieces placed on top of it. When stacking is allowed, the algorithm builds several tiers and more fits in — which lowers the transport cost.
Is the calculation exact?
It is a visual estimate of the layout. The exact loading plan, securing and price for your cargo are prepared by our manager — send a request.
