Road freight from Portugal to Russia
A truck from Portugal crosses almost the whole of Europe: more than 3,000 km to Warsaw and 10–14 days door to door to Moscow. Road freight is therefore the choice for full loads or urgent consignments. We collect from your premises in Lisbon, Porto, Braga, Aveiro or elsewhere, lodge the EX1 on your behalf and send you the MRN as evidence of export.
Groupage lots from Lisbon and Porto are usually better value by sea through our Rotterdam warehouse, from €200 per place, with 20–35 days in transit. We quote both options so you and your buyer can choose between speed and cost. Before collection we screen the HS codes and all parties against EU sanctions, which avoids surprises after the goods are produced.

A truck loaded at your premises anywhere in the EU and driven without intermediate warehouses: from €4,500 Warsaw → Moscow, from €6,200 from Slovenia, from €6,500 from Italy.

How much does road freight from Portugal to Russia cost?
Groupage (LTL) starts from €850 for three pallets from our Warsaw warehouse to Moscow, plus collection to the warehouse priced by distance. A dedicated truck (FTL) is quoted per trip for your route. We do not quote per kilogram: groupage is priced by places and pallets, a truck per trip. The EX1 export declaration is a separate line: €150 when lodged at our Rotterdam warehouse together with our shipment, from €450 when filed remotely. Insurance starts from 0.3% of the invoice value, and the minimum service fee is €200. Send the collection address, weights and dimensions and we reply with LTL and FTL options within 2 hours.
How long does a truck from Portugal take to reach Moscow?
10–14 days door to door on average (route: collection → Spain → France → Germany → Poland → Brest → Moscow). Groupage waits for the weekly consolidation to close at the warehouse; a dedicated truck leaves as soon as it is loaded. Most of the variation comes from queues at the border and customs clearance in Russia. From Moscow we deliver on to St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk or any other city.
Who lodges the EX1 and how do I get proof of exit?
We do, on your behalf — also when you sell EXW. You provide the commercial invoice and packing list; we issue the CMR, lodge the EX1 and send you the MRN. Once the goods leave the EU, the exit is confirmed electronically and you keep it as evidence for zero-rating the VAT on your sale. Your buyer in Russia handles the Russian import declaration and EAC certificates with our help.
Why is road freight from Portugal slower than from other EU countries?
Because of distance: the truck covers more than 3,000 km to Warsaw before it even reaches the Belarusian border, so the door-to-door time to Moscow is 10–14 days. For smaller, non-urgent lots, sea groupage via Rotterdam is usually the better-value alternative.
